Corpus Christi, Texas

Corpus Christi, Texas

January 20-23, 2018. On the way to Corpus Christi we were surprised to see the speed limit was 85! Yikes, that is fast. Richard keeps the RV at a steady 63 🙂 Lake Corpus Christi State Park was very nice, especially for $25/night with water/sewer/electric. I took some pictures on our bike ride around the grounds.   On Monday, January 22, we visited Padre Island National Seashore. I put in the date because this happens to be the one of…

Thawing Out in Bastrop, Texas

Thawing Out in Bastrop, Texas

January 17-19,2018 We left Austin behind but only traveled about 40 miles southeast to Bastrop State Park. The park, which was opened in 1936, is recovering from resent wildfires and flooding. Wintery Mix in Austin, Texas?!?

Wintery Mix in Austin, Texas?!?

January 13-16, 2018 What??? We didn’t sign up for this! We actually had to extend our stay in Austin by one day because of a Winter storm, freezing temps and snow/sleet. Yuck! Even with the bad weather we did enjoy our time at Austin Lone Star RV Resort. It’s a nice little park with a pool and cute cabins to rent. Plus it is a Passport America campground so we got 50% off for two nights of our four night…

On the Way to Texas: Florida, Alabama, Louisiana

January 9-12, 2018 It was good to get back on the road again after our long stay in Tampa. We left on January 9th, one week behind schedule, with plans to get to Austin by January 13th. Our first scheduled stop was Gulf State Park, Alabama but it was too far to make it before dark so we spent the night in a KOA near Pensacola FL. The next morning we left for Gulf State Park, about a 3 hour…

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from Tampa, Florida

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from Tampa, Florida

December 23, 2017-January 9, 2018 My nephew, Tyler, and his wife, Kristen, invited us to “camp” in their driveway for the holidays and even put in 50 amp service and sewer access for us! Now that is going above and beyond. Check out this beautiful site and the view from the back of their house. How can you beat this? Also see the sewer line that Richard put in.  We will definitely be back for Christmas 2018! On Christmas Eve…
