Thankful For Family in Tampa

Thankful For Family in Tampa

November 19-25, 2018 We had a wonderful time spending Thanksgiving in Tampa with family. We stayed in my nephew, Tyler’s, driveway which is perfect for us. We have all the hookups and we are right on the lake…plus it is free. What could be better? After we got the motorhome set up I climbed up on the roof of the house to place the portable satellite in the perfect spot to get all three satellites. I took the opportunity to…

Homosassa, Florida

Homosassa, Florida

November 17-18, 2018 After a long, 6+ hour, drive from Destin we pulled into the Chassahowitzka River Campground just before sunset. It is a cute park with a camp store and boat ramp with canoe and kayak rentals. We only stayed two nights because we wanted to make it to Tampa by Monday since it was my great-niece, Morgan’s, 5th birthday. So we are off to Tampa!

Henderson Beach State Park, Destin Florida

Henderson Beach State Park, Destin Florida

November 14-16, 2018 Henderson Beach State Park on the Emerald Coast Parkway is a favorite of ours due to the spacious pull-through sites and proximity to the beautiful Destin Beach. Unfortunately they do not have sewer hook-ups but for three days this is not a big problem. On our way there, driving west from Jacksonville on I-10, as we approached Tallahassee and beyond, we began to see quite a bit of hurricane Michael damage. Many trees and signs were down…

Jacksonville, Florida

Jacksonville, Florida

November 9-13, 2018 In Jacksonville we stayed at the Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park, right on the Atlantic Ocean. Here is our site. My sister, Linda, joined us for the weekend and we had a great time. Richard, Linda and I rode our bikes around the park and along the beach where we stopped to watch the surfers at “The Poles”. Linda and I put our bikes on the bike rack and drove to Neptune Beach to do some exploring. We…

Jekyll Island, Georgia – Biker’s Paradise

Jekyll Island, Georgia – Biker’s Paradise

November 6-8, 2018 We drove onto Jekyll Island and paid our $6 to go through the gates and proceeded to the campground on the far side of the island. It was a beautiful campground with lots of huge trees. The afternoon we arrived we took a drive over the suspension bridge to St. Simon to see the town. It’s very cute and we would like to spend more time there at some point. Here is a picture of the bridge…

Skidaway Island, Savanah Georgia

Skidaway Island, Savanah Georgia

November 2-5, 2018 Skidaway Island State Park, about 15 miles from Savanah, is a beautiful place with hanging moss and spacious campsites. Ours was almost 200′ long, and wide too! With all the trees and moss we didn’t expect to be able to get satellite but amazingly we got 2 out of 3 satellites using the remote! Our first day there was beautiful, cool and sunny. We took the bikes over to Tybee Island and parked at North Beach by…

On the Road Again-Stone Mountain, Georgia

On the Road Again-Stone Mountain, Georgia

October 29-November 1, 2018 After spending a month in Nashville, including a side trip to Hawaii to visit my dad, we are back on the road again. The time we spent with our grandson, Isaiah age 2 1/2, in Franklin was priceless. He is the cutest boy ever…and I’m not just saying that because he is my grandson. We loved having him over to our campsite at Seven Points and spending time in Franklin. Hawaii was fun with my sister…
